About Lovely Day Legacies

We help grieving families plan meaningful celebrations of life without feeling even more stressed out. Suddenly, things you didn’t think you cared about become important. That’s where a funeral event planner comes in to provide you with options, help you make decisions efficiently, and manage the event planning.

Simply put Lovely Day Legacies is a celebration of life planner based in Napa and serving families in the whole San Francisco Bay Area.

Our families start with us at various stages of their event planning. Some have a venue picked out, while some need help finding a venue that will work with their specific needs. Some are starting from scratch with no pre-planning wishes from their loved ones, while others have desired arrangements from those they love. We help families to plan celebrations of life, funerals, and memorials (yes, there are differences, and we can help you navigate them). The one thing that they all have in common is that they want a meaningful event to honor their loved ones.

If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

Lindsey is a professional who knows her business, and in our experience, she delivered more than promised and much more than anticipated. I unequivocally recommend and endorse Lovely Day Legacies and Lindsey for your events. You will be pleased with the result.

Hi, I’m Lindsey Nickel

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website while you are grieving the loss of your loved one.

At the end of 2021, I cut back on my wedding planning workload so that I could think about what I wanted to do next in my career. I knew I wanted to do something I was really passionate about, but wasn’t quite sure what that was at the time. The idea I kept coming back to in my heart and my head was event planning for memorials, celebrations of life, and funerals.

The idea of an event planner for celebrations of life, funerals, and memorials first popped into my mind when my grandparents passed in 2015. I was watching my highly capable aunt plan their memorials and I was thinking, "Why isn't there a professional to help her plan this? She has enough going on, dealing with the paperwork, closing accounts, and the crematorium."

Going back even further, the idea probably first sprouted in high school when a friend passed away. After the memorial, we all left the church and headed to a park that had a large lake. We all lit pieces of paper, put them in a small Viking boat, and pushed it out into the water. It was at that exact moment that a lightbulb went off and I realized that celebrating someone's life can be something creative, unique, personalized, and memorable. That realization always stuck with me.

Over the past few years, as parents of friends are getting older and passing on, I've seen very smart and highly capable people struggle with planning celebrations of life. They struggled because planning a large event while you are grieving and making decisions about how to plan an event to remember that person, is a lot to take on.

That's when I realized there is a huge need for event planners for memorial services, celebrations of life, and funerals. I saw that I could take my 11+ years as a wedding planner and really help people during some of the hardest times in their lives when they feel like they are just going through the motions.

I started Lovely Day Legacies to serve the families that want to host celebrations of life, memorials, or funerals that are nice (even when they can’t quite describe what that looks like), not over the top (but maybe near the top), and honors their loved ones in a thoughtful and loving manner.

When a loved one passes, families have a lot on their plates and the emotional spectrum is really wide. As your funeral event planner, my goal is to handle the details and logistics for a meaningful and memorable event so that families can focus their energy elsewhere and grieve.

I look forward to working with you to celebrate your loved one. Please, feel welcome to send me a message with any questions.

Warmly,

Lindsey Nickel

In my free time

When I’m not updating a timeline or replying to a vendor’s request for a gluten-free vendor meal, you can find me enjoying the outdoors. I seem to always have a half unpacked carryon bag in the corner of my bedroom (I can never seem to get that unpacked in a timely manner). From traveling, to hiking, to dining al fresco at the newest restaurant, you can usually find me doing something outside. I would be remise if I did not mention that I’m married to CigarHusband, and we have a hyper rescue dog (another passion of mine is fostering dogs).
